PROGRAMMING AND SERVICES

Master the essentials—the programs and services fundamental to exceptional library service

• Evaluate and balance programming calendar to best meet community needs
• Expand collections, including multilingual and digital content
• Explore opportunities for increasing literacy, business, career, technology, and makerspace services for all ages 

PARTNERSHIPS

Expand our reach and amplify our community impact through strategic partnerships 
• Expand partnerships to increase reach in adult education, language learning, and early literacy
• Explore new and novel opportunities to enhance community connections with the community
• Maintain state-of-the-art meeting spaces and optimize use by community organizations
• Promote the café and explore new ways to incorporate into library programming
• Collaborate with the Library Friends to support literacy and promote the FriendShop Bookstore 

FACILITIES

Optimize existing physical assets 
• Assess interior space utilization to meet customer service needs, within existing square footage 
• Systematically assess facilities for accessibility, including signage and ADA requirements 
• Invest in popular technology offerings, including wifi and accessible and innovative technology 
• Conduct a feasibility study for facilities, parking, and space capacity needs 

INCLUSIVITY AND ACCESSIBILITY

Ensure our community recognizes us as a welcoming space for everyone 
• Assess open hours to align with community needs 
• Provide information in multiple languages 
• Pursue opportunities to connect with underrepresented and underserved groups 
• Develop marketing strategies to raise awareness of library offerings 
• Enhance physical and virtual spaces to ensure easy access to resources, services, and programs 
• Assess the potential for updating the website and catalog to enhance the library’s online presence 

STAFF TRAINING

Invest in our staff as they advance our mission while embodying our values 
• Prioritize professional development to further position staff as experts in relevant fields 
• Continue technology training to ensure staff provide expert customer service on all devices and for all digital resources the library offers 
• Develop centralized coordination for organization-wide training 
• Expand opportunities for interdepartmental collaboration, cross-training, and developing new initiatives and services 
• Explore opportunities for professional development and promoting staff well-being
